The plain-language agreement between you and CalTally when you use the app and website.
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the CalTally app and website (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Using CalTally
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your region) to use CalTally. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account.
2. Not medical advice
CalTally provides estimated nutrition information to support your own decisions. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, dietary, or health advice. Calorie and macro figures are estimates and may not be exact. Always consult a qualified professional before making significant changes to your diet, especially if you have a health condition.
3. Accuracy of estimates
AI photo recognition aims for high accuracy but can be affected by lighting, portion size, and hidden ingredients. You can edit any result. You are responsible for reviewing and adjusting entries where needed.
4. Subscriptions and billing
- CalTally offers a free plan and a paid Premium subscription billed monthly or yearly through the App Store or Google Play.
- Premium includes a 7-day free trial; unless cancelled before the trial ends, it converts to a paid subscription.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Manage or cancel anytime through your app store account settings.
- We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on Premium, subject to the applicable app store's refund process.
5. Third-party services
CalTally relies on trusted third parties to operate. AI food-image analysis is performed by the Google Gemini API, and account, database, and analytics services are provided by Google Firebase. CalTally can also integrate with Apple Health and Google Fit / Health Connect to import activity data and export nutrition data, with your permission. Your use of these services is also subject to their respective terms and policies. See our Privacy Policy for how data is handled.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including attempting to reverse engineer it, disrupt it, or use it for any unlawful purpose.
7. Intellectual property
The CalTally app, branding, and content are owned by CalTally and protected by law. Your logged data remains yours; you grant us a limited licence to process it solely to provide the Service.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, CalTally is provided "as is" and we are not liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from your use of the Service or reliance on its estimates.
9. Changes and termination
We may update these Terms or the Service over time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms. You may stop using CalTally and delete your account at any time.
